staycation

There was
Great food
Movies

 Sun
 Cruising the Strand

and I found my new dream house.
Isn't it lovely?
I seem to have a new favorite every time I am down there, but I think this one may stick. It covered 2 or 3 lots.
So grateful we have wonderful and willing family who took the kids and gave us a weekend off.
When we walked in to church on Sunday in San Juan to get the kids, Beckham looked up at me and said:
"Mom, I wish you weren't here."
I guess they had fun.
I know I did.

I hate alarms.
I hate the sound of them.
I hate what they do.
I don't set them unless its 4 a.m and it means If I don't get up I'll miss the plane to Cabo.

Since having kids 4 1/2 years ago, I have set an alarm maybe 3 times.
They all involved waking up to catch a plane.

The kids are my alarm.

Mornings are rough.

I wanted to try something that would let me catch my breath and put pants on before the kids came running and needing.
I slept with the blinds open.
I woke up to the sun, and my bladder.
Not sure which order.
But it was nice.
I had about 2 min. sans kids to pee by myself and brush my teeth.

Thank you sun.
Good Morning to you too.

A morning in Cabo.  I think it's time for another vacation.

back to life

It's Sunday at 5:30.
I was sitting down to take a gander at the newest PB catalogue, but that didn't last for long.
I thought of something I needed to do.
I spent yesterday and today in a funk.
A "my family left and now it's back to real life" funk.
As in I am NOT ready for tomorrow.
Nothing special about tomorrow,
only that it is a completely typical monday morning.
I have to get up and be responsible and workout and get dressed and not eat like I'm on vacation.
I have to find things for the kids to do, (Becks is home from school on account of Cesar Chavez Day.)
I have to clean.
I have to figure out what's for dinner.
While all these things are perfectly normal things,
I am not ready.
I did a few loads of laundry this afternoon to see if it would get me in the mood.
I even made some dinner.
I'm not feeling it yet.
My only hope is a good, sincere prayer.
I often ask my mom how she did it.
The same thing day in and day out.
You know, Groundhog Day.
She says sometimes she would have to pray that she would be able to clean another toilet,
and fold another load of laundry.
Both on my list for tomorrow.

It was a fun week.
