He needs it to go downtown, and as it happens, during nap time.
So, I accept defeat and we will have a day at home in jammies, most likely in front of the T.V.
It's probably for the best since both kids are snot factories this morning, and Becks has a nice little weezey cough to go with it. The kid woke up dry though. We are on day 5. Poop is not our friend so far. Otherwise, the kid is a champ.
I had my first experience in Target yesterday running full speed from the back corner of the store to the bathrooms in the front corner when Becks told me he had to go potty.
He's new at this right? I don't know how long his holding capacity is.
And while I was sprinting through the store trying to avoid smashing others under our big red cart, I told him to hold it, and he did. He pinched it. Is that supposed to work? It did.
And then after we left Target, he told me in the parking lot of the bank. So, I let him pee in the parking lot. Is that O.K?
I'm not going to drag both babies into a store. I felt fine about it. I don't think anyone else saw, but if they did, they'd think I was one of those moms.
And I'd still be O.K with it.
Here's to today, and staying home, and snot, and jammies, and fingers crossed poop in the potty and not in the undies.

Oh man we stayed home for a good week when E started potty training. Poop sucks, good luck with that.
here is an easy trick---
i always keep an empty water bottle in the car, so if they have to go- we don't have to all pile out of the car and go in somewhere, and the don't have to pee on the ground. i just pull over and they go in the bottle. so much easier with boys- i don't think that works with girls though....
Glad to hear I'm not the only mom who lets her 3 year old pee in parking lots. I just don't want to have to take the baby out of the car if I can avoid it. I remember when we started potty training, I really did feel like I got the full tour of every public bathroom that day. Either because I was paranoid he was going to wet his pants or he told me he had to go. GOOD LUCK.
I remember those sprints in the stores! We let Shane pee into the drain on the balcony to morph him from sitting down to standing up to pee. Apparently it was so much fun peeing outside that he always wanted to 'Pee on Ground' no matter what location or size of the crowd. I've been 'That Mom' a lot haha! I love reading your stories, they crack me up!
There must be something about Target and being at the back of the store that makes little boys have to go! I've had at least three of those sprints to the front of the store with huge shopping cart, and most of them where Mason was almost crying 'cuz he has to go so bad. He's been potty trained for months now, but still, when he has to go, he usually can't hold it more than a few minutes.
He LOVES peeing outside and would do it that way all the time if he could. He especially likes trying to "go potty on bugs". I prefer to let him go by a tree than use some of the restrooms at the local parks...i don't think they get cleaned...ever.
