disney mania

Nate took the day off and we did Disneyland today.
We got there before 9 a.m and did the main street rush.  It was a first for me.
We did sunscreen and snacks while waiting for them to give us the go ahead to storm the gates.
There was no trampling.
But we did get stuck behind a motorized wheel chair.

We did the first few rides with no lines, because we were early, and also because Nate is still on a crutch.
Special treatment for handicapped.

It's a Small World.
One of my favorites.
A visual feast.
Colors, shapes, patterns, cute folk dancing and singing.
The repetitive lyrics forcing you to remember every happy childhood memory.
Perfect really.

Until Marley defiled it.
Twice in the boat, then I turned her head to aim in the water.
A few times there.
And 3 more times right as we exited the boat.
Poor girl.
We may have ruined somebody's day at "the happiest place on earth."
And some more in the stroller.
And jumping ahead, on the ride home in the car.
We went through loads of wet wipes.

They tried taking some of the coins out and I couldn't help quoting Goonies.
"But this one here, this was my hope, my dream, my wish, and it didn't come true.  So I'm taking it back.  I'm taking them all back."

 Much needed napping.
(Side note, Lincoln threw up before bed.  It may be a messy night.)
This place in Downtown Disney is like "build a bear", but for cars.
Brilliant.

It really was a great day.
Throw up and all.

Oh, and p.s.
She was there too.
Mary Louise Parker.
I haven't seen Weeds, but Nate and I loved her in West Wing.
It's always fun to see some celebrity.
