It is a journal jar. Full of random questions meant to jog your memory and give you something to write about. For posterity's sake.
I was truly inspired for a week following the activity.
I opened a word doc., and made it through 2 questions.
I am again feeling inspired.
Today's question:
"Tell about how your parents met"
I'll do just that.
In 1974, the beautiful Debra Lynn Myers was sitting in this LDS church bld. in Logan Utah known as "the golden toaster."
In he walked with hair down to his shoulders and sporting combat boots. He walked towards her, sat down next to her, and put his arm around her.
Debbie was appalled.
They ended up playing the guitar together. Combat boots guy, who we now know as Larry, had a good time dating all of the girls in Debbie's sorority.
During this time they were friends, and had a love/hate relationship.
Guitar playing, friends, not dating.
Debbie went to Chicago with him to visit his family while he was dating another girl.
It didn't last.
Two years after they first met, October 4th, a beautiful fall afternoon, they were in Logan Canyon with another couple. Larry got down on one knee and proposed with this beauty:
He carved a ring from wood since he was broke. That's a big rock!
They set the wedding for the following summer, but ended up moving the date up 4 times. Yikes.
February 27th, 1976, they married in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.
In my mother's words,
"no matter how angry I got, (who wouldn't get angry if someone dated everyone but you) I never could get Larry out of my mind. I mean, I thought about him ALL OF THE TIME! It was ridiculous and I came to the conclusion that it was meant to be, and it was. Just  look at all of the beautiful, nice, wonderful children and grandchildren we have. He was just trying to make me jealous by dating the room-mates. Actually, I dated some nice guys myself during that time!"
My mom said she got rid of the dress.  I would be first in line if she hadn't.
I love a good Love Story!

Uhhh, Blacksmith Fork Canyon, South of Logan Canyon. Ring was carved a couple of weeks later when we went to a cabin with Deb's parents and brother. Minor details. I love a good love story too.
BTW, doesn't anybody want the blue leisure suit?
What is wrong with the dress? It was pretty styling back then.
