At this time exactly, one week from today, I will be checking into the hospital where I will then proceed to have a baby.  It is surreal to me that it is planned.  My little boy will have a birthday, April 29th, 2010.  This is, of course, only if he doesn't decide to join us earlier.
I have never had a scheduled birth.
My babies come quickly out of nowhere.  Well, not nowhere.  They were gestating comfortably in my belly.
There is no real reason that I am being induced other than the fact that I am tired of being pregnant, and I caught my doctor on a good day.  I told her my Mom and Sister were coming into town just for this and that they had never been able to be here when I had my babies because they live so far away and my babies come fast.  Real fast.
So, she said yes.  2 days before my due date.
I am thrilled that I will have some family here.
I am thrilled that there is an end in sight to the uncomfortableness.
I THRILLED that I will get to meet Lincoln in exactly one week.
I am not so thrilled about being in the hospital and having pitocin and an epidural.  Not because this is being forced upon me, I asked to do it this way, but because it is unknown.  That is always a little scary, right?
So, this week is business as usual.  Carpet is getting installed today in the addition.  Baseboards will go up, then furniture assembled.  Blankets will be washed and put in drawers next to rediculously tiny diapers.
Church callings will be fulfilled, groceries will be bought, and next thursday I will look at the calendar and see that I am having a baby, so I'll hop in the shower and get all dolled up.  Maybe this time I'll look decent in the post baby pictures since I will have had some warning.

Yay! I am one of those people that loves pitocin and the epidural. And you probably won't have to have pitocin on very long either since you deliver so fast. Good luck!

What? A "normal" birthing experience for you? ha ha I can't wait to hear how it all goes! And, I just love Beckham and Marley in the picture - did you tell them to do their surprised faces? So cute. I'll be thinking about you and hope all goes well :)

I'm kind of disappointed that you're not letting him come on his own time. I remember reading about your last labor and it was SUCH an exciting story!! I was hoping for another fast labor...will she make it to the hospital on time or will she have the baby in traffic?... story. Oh well. Good luck with that pitocin!
