Mostly because my doctors appointments are all of 5 min. long and end with, "see you in 4 weeks."
Although, at the end of todays visit, and after hearing a robust heartbeat from little Lincoln, she said,"see you in 2 weeks."
The single digit countdown has begun. I have 9 weeks to go.
Deep down I hope the doctor will look at me and say, "you're farther along then I thought, you should have this baby next week." But that's only in my weird, interrupted by bathroom trip, dreams.
At the gym last week a man lifting next to me looked over and told me I was lucky. I laughed thinking he was mocking me as I hefted a measly 20lbs over my head awkwardly.
"lucky?" I asked.
"yeah, my wife was in bed throughout most of her pregnancies and she was so sick all the time."
"I am very lucky." I replied.
I do feel lucky that I have great pregnancies and that my doctor only needs to see me for 5 min. at a time and that I can go to the gym and chase my kids.
And I really don't wish an early delivery for Lincoln's sake. I want him to be nice and plump and, well done.
The nurse who weighed me today said the scale is three pounds off and put me down for a number that was much better than what I had last visit. She is my new best friend.
Not that 3lbs makes ANY difference when you look like a manatee.

Sea cow would maybe describe more appropriately how I feel though. Manatee isn't to flattering a name either. Poor creature.
And, if Lincoln were to come today, he would find his bedroom looking like this:
So, 9 weeks it is. I really am SOOOOO excited to meet the little sucker. Until then, I will keep busy chasing the kids and watching Nate hang drywall.

Oh I live the name lincoln...so cute. Man time sure does fly, I can't believe you're so close already! can't wait to see the finished room!
manatee....jeanine, you're hilarious! Cause I DOUBT you look like a manatee OR a sea cow....just a good old pregnant girl who's ready to pop! So no new pics of your hair? Maybe just some head shots? Come on, we're all dying to catch a peek! hang in there, nate might need all 9 weeks to get that room ready! Go Nate!!
Every time I sit down to blog, I am sweaty and nasty. Maybe Sunday I'll remember!
You may feel like a manatee, but you certainly don't look like one! I have a goal to "Be more like Jeanine" and to walk and go to the gym everyday. I wish that some of your motivation would rub off on me!
I hate prenatal visits--I feel like everything they do I could easily do myself at home, without the logistical problems of dragging all the kids around and waiting forever for the doctor to give us a full 30 seconds of her time. I'd be happy to phone in once a month with the results...
OH! you are so close! It seems like only a couple weeks ago that we were sitting at my diaper party and I was that far away from delivering Paxton. Weird. You announced that you were prego that night too. Can't wait to see him!
I'm so excited that you are so close! I feel the same way about doctor's visits...almost like a waste, although you are right, I'm glad that my appointments never brought up any problems or had to be longer. I can't wait to see Lincoln when he comes!
