A fabulous advent calendar Anne got the kids last year. I think I'm going to put activities on little scrolls of paper and stick it in the pockets for the kids to open since there isn't room for much else. Also, the kids don't need 25 days of sugar treats. Any advent activity ideas? My Sister told me about this blog with some fun ideas.
We don't have a mantel, so the stockings were hung by the door, under the mirror, with command hooks, with care.
I was telling Nate that although our house is quaint, I think Christmas suits it. Not a lot of room to set cute decorations and all, but there is room for the important things. I LOVE turning the lights on first thing in the morning to set the Christmas mood for the day. This is by far the MOST wonderful time of the year.
Hope you are enjoying yourselves a little Christmas decor as well.

I love it! Our front room is really small too, and I was worried we wouldn't even be able to have a tree, but we rearranged our furniture and made it happen (also thanks to a home depot tree).
Your decor looks great and I hope it brings you Christmas cheer all season long!
Cute! My sister was just telling me that she checks out a bunch of Christmas books from the library, wraps them up and then each evening they get to open one and read it, kids are happy to open stuff and then you can return them back to the library at the end of Dec!
Your tree/house look great! I love the stockings hung with care - I want to try those command hooks.
I also like Skyla's sister's idea about the library books. That's very clever - gives the kids something to unwrap and look forward to every night. Awesome. :)
