The day after Thanksgiving, we drove ourselves to a little place called Home Depot and picked out a perfect little tree for our little room. I was thrilled that it was an Oregon tree. Supporting my roots. We even bought a few strands of outdoor lights as I told Nate he would most definitely be climbing on the roof to hang some Holiday cheer. It is the first time we've had our very own roof. A must.




A fabulous advent calendar Anne got the kids last year. I think I'm going to put activities on little scrolls of paper and stick it in the pockets for the kids to open since there isn't room for much else. Also, the kids don't need 25 days of sugar treats. Any advent activity ideas? My Sister told me about this blog with some fun ideas.


We don't have a mantel, so the stockings were hung by the door, under the mirror, with command hooks, with care.


I was telling Nate that although our house is quaint, I think Christmas suits it. Not a lot of room to set cute decorations and all, but there is room for the important things. I LOVE turning the lights on first thing in the morning to set the Christmas mood for the day. This is by far the MOST wonderful time of the year.
