Woo Woo!

Today Beckham got to sit in a Woo Woo! It's what he call's an ambulance. He was in Heaven.
The circumstances weren't ideal though. It wasn't a field trip.
I know Heavenly Father sent the Woo Woo to save us.
This morning we were heading to The Gundo to meet some friends at the park.
The 405 N was very busy, and while accelerating to get over into the car pool lane, my car fell apart. Literally.
I started praying right away. There were cars coming up fast behind me and the car was toast. No moving for me.
First, Hazards on, calling 911 while looking in the rear view mirror thinking this is not going to end well. Here it comes.
Side swiped on the right by a car trying to swerve. Were fine, the side mirror is not. I start honking over and over.
Trying to warn people who are coming up fast behind me. 80 fast. 911 operator is sending CHP.
Car pulls up next to me to tell me my car is on fire. Panic. Jump out and rip the babies out of the car seats.
Out of the car with two babies in the Left Lane of a California Freeway next to a car on fire. Awesome.
I looked up and there was the Woo Woo. Was passing by and came to save us. Stopped behind us. Blocked the cars.
Took my babies and I and put us safe in the back. Beckham had a big smile and wide eyes. I was crying and shaking.
They got an extinguisher and went to work on the car. Fire Department came to help.
Called Nate and he was on his way. Watching the 6 lanes of traffic pile up behind me through the open Woo Woo doors.
They emptied out my car for me, and let Beckham explore! Such good men. I felt safe. CHP came. Quite the scene.
Nate came and we got in the car and followed the tow truck as he took away the very broken car.
We got home safe. Talked to family and they let us know of all the prayers that were sent our way. I felt every one.
This was scary. Very scary. I am thankful that we are o.k. I am thankful that we did not cause others around us to get hurt.
We are blessed. The Subaru is not.
Thank you for the brief time we spent together Subaru, although you were trouble from the start.
I will not miss you nor will I ever be driving one of your kind again.

First, I'm very grateful to hear you're all safe and sound, and yes I think that ambulence was heaven-sent.

Second, you're going to have a great time telling that story to your grandchildren :-)

and so sad about your subaru. we LOVE them. we are on our 4th one... but we've never had a problem.
i totally get it that you never want another one though. i can't sit in a VW bus without getting anxious.... remember how it burned down? better to be safe!

Oh my gosh Jeanine that is so so scary! I'm so glad you are all ok, I can't imagine how horrible that would be as a mother. At least it was now and not when you had to pull three babies out of the car, not that the pregnancy hormones would make this experience very fun. Stay safe friend!

Whoa. What a terrifying story. I drove on the crazy Southern California freeways for over 3 hours today on my way to San Diego and I thought a lot about what I would do in your situation. My friend who is a CHP officer had told me a story on Sunday about how people often get killed from traffic when they have to pull over onto the shoulder of the freeway. I am so glad you are okay. I can't only imagine how scared you were when you had to pull the kids out of the car on the 405! Oh my gosh.

So glad my babies are safe. But Niner, remember every time anyone in our family has bought a car from a relative, this stuff happens. Remember all the cars you and Lissa have burned thru. (except maybe the Dakota you sold to the Mexicans) It's not the make of the car, it's the fact that our family is rough on cars.

Wow...I can't believe that actually happened to you! I'm so grateful you and the kids are okay. I'm sitting here with tears running down my cheeks while I read this (I am always much more emotional during pregnancy). What a scary experience.

KKBF! I'm crying too! Crap Jeanine, good work. You know, I've always said you think and move faster than anybody I know when timing is crucial. I bet your skills are sharpened when your babies are concerned. Love you.

Holy moly that is scary!! Definite freak-out situation and one of my worst fears. It sounds like you handled it very well though. Way to be a quick-thinking momma! And I'm glad the Woo Woo wasn't because anyone was seriously hurt. What a story!

Oh my gosh!! I am soooo glad you are all ok. Isn't it amazing that there's always someone looking out for us? I swear, that's like something from a movie. And not the movie that you want to star in! What an experience. I let out a huge sigh of relief at the end of this post! Love you guys.

Holy crap Jeanine! That's horrible. I cannot imagine being on a busy freeway with my kids and having my car catch on fire. Glad you're okay.

BYU...sounds cheesy, but some of the best days of my life. It's the only time period Shad and I would replay if we could. Loved all of it.
