The thrill

While I was at Target this morning, the third time this week,yes, that adds up to twice in one day, I realized it's the thrill of the hunt. I went to get some shoe polish for Nate, but there was no way I was going to pack my bag, sippy cups, diapers, snacks, screaming, and schlepping all for some measly shoe polish. SO, we did the usual, hit the snack bar for some Diet for me and smoothies for the kids, then the dollar bins for some crap to keep the kids happy until I distract them at the checkout stand and ditch the crap on the magazine rack, and headed for the shoe polish. Mission accomplished, yet far form over. We spent the next hour cruising the ends of the isles where they keep the clearance items. Picked up a few random things, and lastly, made it to the 75% off clothes rack in the woman's section. I said I was going to be good and not even look since I have no need for any new clothes, and also the fact that I had purchased some killer things on my previous 2 trips this week. When I say killer things, I mean, 3 KILLER pieces for under $15. That's the way I shop now days. Well, the pull was too strong, and while flipping through the same XXL pieces, and XS pieces that I have flipped through for weeks, I grabbed the same jacket that I have loved, but have just not been willing to spend the discounted price of $17.48 on. Lo and behold, the Orange Sticker Ferry came in the night, and my jacket had a second orange sticker that said $8.74. Now THAT'S what I'm talking about. $34.99 to $8.74. The only one on the rack. It's mine. I do my mini cheer for the kids in the cart, who are now whining because the smoothies are gone. I feel no buyers remorse as I swipe my card and enter my pin. It's the thrill of the hunt, and the hunt was successful. Now I need it to cool down a bit so I can wear it somewhere.
