I forget.

Nate and I were at his company Christmas party this last weekend.  We had a baby sitter, got dressed up nice, and headed out to Long Beach for the dinner cruise.  I realized while we were sitting with our tonic and lime from the open bar that I had no idea what to talk about with these people.  It always goes back to the kids.  I sit and try to remember what I talked about or thought about before I had kids.  I can't remember.  I try to think back to when Nate and I were dating, I know there were some non-kid conversations in there somewhere.  Until I can think of some, its Beckham and Marley on the brain.  They are a nice thing to have on my brain though.  It just makes non-kid social situations a little awkward for me.  A picture of Pre-Baby Nate and Jeanine.  Full of lots of really interesting things to talk about.

I have to laugh because this is so true. Rob and I had this conversation the other day about how we have nothing to talk about anymore besides Ellie and his work. Oh well. I still think being a mom is the best job anyway!

It is true. That is why we have to hang out with parents with young kids. I think this means that you are just a good mom...

Kids cause anatomic/physiologic changes in the Brain. Kind of a pre-senile dementia.
Just roll with it. Everyone you know who's not living in their parents' basement will go thru it.
Love,
Dad

Ok so I am really behind on blogging and just read this but I had to comment because I agree totally! It's so easy to just strike up a conversation with people with kids the same ages as yours...but super hard otherwise. If we ever move to California, I'll be sure to look you up 'cuz we would be able to talk for hours! :)
