Waiting

We are attempting the leap into adulthood with the recent submittal of an offer on a quaint little home in a city not far south from us.  We have both fallen in love with this home and made the mistake that so many warned us about, getting attached to the home before it is yours.  The home is waiting to be approved for a short sale, so it could be another week or a few months before we hear anything.  I have been spending all my free time watching HGTV and flipping through mags to find my perfect DIY kitchen back-splash,  the perfect color for the  walls, how to make a small room look big etc.  So yes, I, we, are attached.  I will be sad if it does not happen, but we will keep looking.  It's exciting to think about a space that can really be your own.  No matter how small, or old.  Which this home is.  Its fabulous all the same because it MAY(or may not) be ours.  So, in the mean time, I will keep dreaming, and waiting...impatiently.

Ha! We are waiting on a short sale, too. They said it could be 6-8 more weeks before we hear from the bank. Isn't it a pain?

Good luck! I'll be crossing my fingers for you. We have a small home (1090 square feet) but it is so nice that it is OURS. That I can paint, rip things out, etc. Of course I did have to stop watching HGTV for a while there because all the things I want to do cost MONEY! But anyway - it is fun to be a homeowner and now is definitely the time to get into one!

That's exciting! Good luck with getting the house! I would definitely be checking out all the HGTV shows and dreaming if I knew there was a possibility of owning a home.
