Sweets and snot

Last week I got a nasty cold and this week Beckham got it so we have been lounging around trying to keep the snot off our faces. In all this lounging around, I have had a mad craving for valentines candy. I resisted going to the store for the last few days, since we have been sick. I tried eating other sweets to fill the void, like marshmallows, cookie dough, chocolate chips, but nothing worked. So, yesterday, I dragged my sick baby to target with me to fulfill my craving. There was a sale, 2 bags of kisses for $4. Plus, you can't get Valentines day candy without conversation hearts. And the cinnamon gummy hearts, that was what started it all. Those are what I was craving in the first place. So, Yesterday, I ate my fill, felt sick, and had to empty them from the bowls to ziplocks safe in the cupboard where they are not staring at me all day. My goal is to make it last until Valentines day. We shall see...

Hahahahaha! Man, I miss you! I wish you were here so I could pig out on candy with you and not feel so guilty! I mean, I crave it every day and I tell my students that they have to bring me candy if they want A's. I act like I am joking, but I am not and they follow through.
At least you are motivated to work it off. I still remember the night that you ate an entire pound of hot tomales and then decided to RUN THREE MILES at MIDNIGHT to burn them off, while I just ate them and went to sleep! That's dedication!

Control when it comes to candy has been a challenge for me my whole life but somehow, I finally got. But control has NO PLACE when it comes to real cravings. Way to go girl. ENDULDGE!!!! :)

How is it that little kids always look just as cute in pictures when they're sick as when they are well? So not fair.
And for the record, I do the same thing with any candy I put out. I crave, buy it, put it out and eat it. Then I decide that's enough, put it in the ziploc bags and right into the cupboard. Then I usually forget about and my husband finds it, or it sits back there for months. We're notorious for not finishing a bag of candy. I guess, in a way, that's a good thing!
