Galinda, Growling and Goodness

Yes, our weekend away rocked, and yes I missed the boy. I missed his incessant growling, I missed his wobbly steps, and I missed his beautiful smile. Apparently Nate did also because during Wicked, in the middle of a scene with Galinda, he turned to me and said, "that's just like Beckham." First of all, it was tender that he was thinking of the baby, second of all, how bazaar it was for him to make the comparison. His reason was that she was kind of spazing out and jumping around during the scene, and the boy spazes out and jumps around also. Hmmm. It worked in his mind.

Turns out I live in a rad city. I don't venture downtown much just for kicks with the boy, for several reasons. One, you never know when traffic will hit, and your 20 min. drive there will be a 3 hour drive home. Second, down towns are not known for their abundance of public restrooms. And third, because I just forget how rad it is down there.

We loved walking around near our hotel and seeing the amazing architecture. There was an Armenian wedding party going on at the LA Public Library, so I got to chat in Armenian for a few min. which made my day. We ate amazing food at Campanelli's which is an Italian/Parisian restaurant in a building from the 20's that Charlie Chaplin built for one of his wives. Wicked was incredible, and I have been listening to the soundtrack non-stop. Sunday morning, I got a facial, then we checked out, got some greasy Mexican food at Tito's Taco's, and went to see "Across the Universe." If you are a Beatles fan, I would highly recommend it. I think half the theater was singing along.

And finally, we drove back down to San Juan Capistrano, and picked up the boy from Anne and Darrell or, Nana and Papa D.

Here are some quality photographs. That's sarcasm by the way. We really should have asked someone to take a decent picture of us.

That sounds like so much fun! I'm glad you guys got away just the two of you! So do you live in LA or just near it or what?

I've heard Wicked is really good...now I want to go see it!

That sounds so awesome!!! I wish I could have a weekend away with my hubby. And I love your pictures. You both look so cute. I like how you refer to Beckham as "the boy"... it sounds like something my hilarious older brother would say.
