Reader Discretion Advised
The state of my cervix. This isn't going to be R rated, just a little more information than I usually offer to the readers of "Word Up." At my six week postpartum checkup, my pap came back positive for HPV and Atypical cells. Funny. Where in the world could I have gotten HPV? Still no one knows. I had a minor freak out, since of course the latest drug advertisements were for the shot to prevent HPV which can lead to cervical cancer. I talked to my Dad, who is a doctor, and I got a blessing from Nate, and felt o.k about things. They did a biopsy, which came back negative for HPV this time, but positive for Atypical cells, so they said they would need to see me in 6 months. Well, I went back 6 months later, had my pap, and got a call a week later that said I was still negative for HPV but that instead of just Atypical cells, I had low grade lesions. So now they are going to do a conoscapy. I guess it's like a biopsy, only they take a cone of tissue. So why do I share this with you? I'm not completely sure, only that I have my appointment tomorrow morning, so it's been on my mind as I plan the rest of my week. I'm not nervous. I got over that after the first time. And apparently it's quite common to have a funny cervix. My mom went through this after she had a baby. So, feel free to share your cervix stories with me.

OMG! Well I don't have any cervix stories to share...but good luck at the Dr.'s! Yikes!
The joy of being a woman! Well it really sucks sometimes, in my opinion! I had my ovary removed and that was really scary (plus it was 2 months before my wedding!) I think the best thing is to stay positive and hope that your Doctors are doing everything they can. Also always get a 2nd opinion (good thing you have your dad!) Please let me know how things are, you are in my prayers!
i hope everything goes well tomorrow! the only cervix story is that mine is turned up more than normal. my obgyn says it's no biggie.
good luck with everything! just think things could be worse and you could be positive for hpv. there are so many things now a days that we didn't know about even 2 years ago, so i'm sure it's no big deal and it's nothing serious. we will have you in our prayers!
Funny cervix stories?
OK,
A cervix, a gallbladder and an appendix walk into a bar.........
Good Luck, Jeanine...it's never fun when things aren't completely normal, but I'm sure it'll be fine! I'll be praying for you.
Hmmm...that sounds scary to me, but if you're not too worried then I won't be either. Good luck, I really hope everything goes well for you!
You are in my thoughts and prayers. Always keep that positive attitude! I've had a few run ins with my ob/gyn, and I'll tell ya, that help from above, works miracles, way to be.
Yikes!! I am so sorry Jeanine ... I hope that everything is ok. I'll definitely keep you in my prayers and you'll have to keep us posted on the outcome. Sorry, no cervix stories for you today from my end, although I did just have my first yeast infection last week. Oh how I love antibiotics that throw your body all out of whack!!
Good luck at the doctor! I was told before we got pregnant that my cervix was tilted and that it would be harder to get pregnant. Come to find out that the doctor didn't know what the heck he was talking about and that's an "old wives tale".
Well... my cervix bone is broken. Happened while I was pregnant with Rory. She was so heavy and situated so low in my uterus... and then she liked to kick a lot. That, plus a 3-day drive to Nauvoo and that did it. Lots of pain for months and months. It's still healing but MUCH better now. Hurts if I work out too hard. I'll keep you in my prayers. Things like this can be very unnerving to say the least.
J Dog!
I hope you are doing ok!!!!!! That is not cool at all. The good thing is that you are being proactive. Good luck and we will keep you in our prayers!
Funny cervix story? None of those, I am just finding out what one of those is for. For some reason being pregnant makes everyone in a white coat want to be best friends with your cervix and check up on it. If it had a blog, I am sure it would get more posts on it than I do.
