A brief history

Nate and I met on New Years Eve 2004 at a party at my house in Salt Lake City. We were introduced by the Clifford sisters. Katie served her mission with Nate in Switzerland, and Emily was my last companion before I left my mission in Armenia. The sisters got to talking, arranged a meeting, and 9 months later we were married in the San Diego Temple.

After we were married we lived with Nate's parents in San Juan Capistrano for a year. Thanks again Anne and Darrell! Nate finished his degree from BYU in French, independant study, while he worked with Darrell building and remodling homes. I worked at La Costa Spa in Carlsbad, as a massage therapist. Nate got a great job working for Clark construction and was going to be working on the LAX international terminal rennovation, so in August of 2006 we moved to El Segundo so he could be close to work. We have a cute apt. at the end of the runway. Seriously. The noise was a bit much at first, but Nate has a 2 min. commute and we are a 10 min. walk to the beach. Not to shabby.

Im 7 months pregnant at this time with our first little guy, Beckham Trace Arnold.
El Segundo is nick-named Mayberry. Its a little piece of heaven in LA. We fell in love with the neighborhood, our ward, and the beach. (and Vinny's Pizza)

On October 28th, 3 days before my due date, and after some spicy food at CPK, I started having contractions that lasted 24 hours. I did my laboring at home since we didn't know if it was the real thing or not. When they got to painful to handle on my own, we booked it to the hospital, where they dropped from 8 min, to 5 min, to 60 sec. in the space of 15 min. I was at 9 cm when we checked in and the Beckham came out 15 min. later. He waited just long enough so the Doctor could put his shoe covers on, and reach out his hands to catch him.

Which brings us to our current situation. Happy in El Segundo, at the end of the runway, next to the beach, with a smiley, drooling, 4 month old boy.

Hey, you don't know me, but I served with Nate on the mission. Anyway, I found your blog through Chloe Andersen's to Katie Clifford's, etc. I had heard rumors Nate got married, glad they're true and I could finally confirm them, and obviously its been awhile because you already have a baby!! Anyway, congrats!
